comparison of intraocular pressure measurement with the noncontact pulsair 3000 tonometer and goldmann applanation tonometer

چکیده
purpose: to compare intraocular pressure (iop) measurement with pulsair non-contact tonometer and goldmann applanation tonometer (gat). methods: in this cross-sectional study, during a complete ophthalmologic examination, each patient underwent pulsair tonometry three times at 5 minutes intervals and then goldmann tonometry at the same intervals. mean iop values were measured and analyzed. results: we evaluated 458 eyes of 250 patients (138 males and 112 female subjects). mean iop was 19.45±9.04 mmhg with gat and 20.11±8.42 mmhg with pulsair (p=0.075). correlation coefficient between the two methods was 0.96 (p= 0.004) and the mean difference (pulsair-gat) was 0.65±1.52 (confidence interval 95%, +3.5 to -2.29). with iops between 10-25mmhg, mean difference between the two methods was 0.49±1.23 (p= 0.32) mmhg, however it was -1.75±1.91 (p= 0.06) at iops over than 25 mm hg. conclusion: pulsair tonometry has acceptable accuracy in comparison with gat, especially in iop ranging from 10 to 25 mmhg.

Comparison of intraocular pressure measurements with the portable PT100 noncontact tonometer and goldmann applanation tonometry
PURPOSE Noncontact tonometers are useful when regulations preclude use of contact tonometers by medical students and other nonophthalmologists. Our study compared the measurements by the portable, noncontact tonometer (PT100) with Goldmann applanation tonometry (GAT). METHODS This was a prospective study of 98 eyes from 98 patients. Intraocular pressure (IOP) was measured by GAT and the PT100...

BACKGROUND An accurate assessment of Intraocular pressure (IOP) is vital in establishing diagnosis of Glaucoma and decision making regarding various treatment modalities available. The purpose of this study is to compare Goldmann Applanation Tonometer (GAT) with Air puff tonometer. METHODS Cross-sectional comparative study conducted. 73 eyes from 73 patients were included in this study and in...

Background: To analyze the limits of agreement for the intraand inter-session measurements of intra-ocular pressure as measured by the Goldmann applanation tonometer and the Canon TX-F noncontact pulsair tonometer Methods: For this cross sectional study, 138 eyes of 138 cases of age > 16 years with no evidence of glaucomatous changes were recruited. Cases with astigmatism ≥ ±3.0 Diopters, corne...
متن کاملClinical comparison of Pulsair non-contact tonometer and Goldmann applanation tonometer in Indian population.
INTRODUCTION Goldmann applanation tonometer (GAT) is the gold standard for Intraocular Pressure (IOP) measurement but has disadvantage of being contact device and problems with portability. The aim of the study was to compare the Keeler's Pulsair noncontact tonometer (NCT) with GAT in Indian Population. MATERIALS AND METHODS Eighty-one subjects were screened from a Glaucoma clinic of a tertia...
متن کاملComparative evaluation of intraocular pressure with an air-puff tonometer versus a Goldmann applanation tonometer
PURPOSE Tonometry, or measurement of intraocular pressure (IOP), is one of the most important examination procedures in ophthalmic clinics, and IOP is an important parameter in the diagnosis of glaucoma. Because there are numerous types of tonometer available, it is important to evaluate the differences in readings between different tonometers. Goldmann applanation tonometers (GATs) and noncont...
متن کاملA Comparative Study of Intraocular Pressure Measurement Using Tonopen and Goldmann Applanation Tonometer
Background: Glaucoma is the world's leading cause of preventable irreversible blindness. The most important risk factor of glaucoma is increase in the intraocular pressure.Hence, timely screening by accurate IOP measurements is of utmost importance. In recent years, Tonopen has emerged as an alternative to Goldmann applanation tonometer which is the ‘gold standard’ for IOP measurement because o...
